Extract PDF text rows into an Excel workbook

Tooldit groups selectable text by vertical position; it does not infer every table's structure.
Walkthrough
- Select a PDF containing selectable text.
- Convert to XLSX and inspect sheet rows and cells.
- Check column alignment, dates, leading zeros, totals and units against the original.

What to check before relying on the result
Scanned tables need OCR first. Cell grouping does not guarantee correct columns, formulas or numeric types.
Troubleshooting
For an important financial or scientific table, reconcile every value and total. Rebuild merged headers and formulas manually rather than treating extracted cells as verified calculations.
Privacy and output checks
Tooldit file and text tools process their contents locally. Optional page analytics is separate, and SEO and contact tools use network services. Read the Privacy Policy. Keep original files and inspect the output before sharing it. Examples in this guide are instructions, not measured performance tests.
