What to check before relying on the result
JavaScript string length counts UTF-16 code units, so a visible emoji can contribute multiple units. A raw count is not every platform's limit calculation.
Troubleshooting
Remove unintended whitespace if appropriate, but do not discard meaningful punctuation to force a count. Languages without spaces need different word-count rules.
