About Kombat Arena
Kombat Arena is a free, browser-based 2D fighting game inspired by the arcade classics, pitting the ice ninja Sub-Zero against the knife-throwing mercenary Kano in a Throne Room arena. There is nothing to install and nothing to download — the whole match runs in your browser the moment you choose a mode. Whether you want a quick solo bout against the computer or a head-to-head battle with a friend on the same keyboard, the full move set is here: punches, kicks, jumps, crouches, blocks, uppercuts, and spin kicks.
How to Play
From the title screen, pick 1 Player to fight the CPU-controlled Kano, or 2 Players to battle a friend on one keyboard. Each fighter has a green health bar at the top of the arena; the goal is to empty your opponent's bar before they empty yours.
In 1 Player mode the default controls are:
- Move — Left and Right arrows walk, Up jumps, Down crouches.
- Punches — A for high punch, S for low punch.
- Kicks — F for high kick, D for low kick.
- Block — hold Shift to guard against incoming attacks.
- Special moves — Down + A performs an uppercut, and Left or Right + F performs a spin kick.
In 2 Players mode the keyboard is split. Player 1 (Sub-Zero) moves with G, J, Y and H, attacks with A, S, D, F, and blocks with Shift. Player 2 (Kano) moves with the arrow keys, attacks with P, the bracket keys and backslash, and blocks with Ctrl. When a round finishes, press the Space bar to restart instantly.

Tips and Strategy
- Block on reaction. The CPU Kano often closes the gap with a spin kick and then mixes high and low attacks. Holding block when he rushes in cuts most of that damage.
- Punish with the uppercut. After you block or bait a whiffed attack, a Down + A uppercut deals heavy damage and knocks your opponent down, buying you a moment to reset spacing.
- Control the distance. Walk in and out of range so the CPU keeps approaching, then meet it with a spin kick (direction + F) the instant it steps into reach.
- Mix your heights. Alternating high punches with low kicks makes it harder for a human opponent in 2 Players mode to guess your next guard.
