About Brain Twist
Brain Twist is a free collection of riddles and brain teasers that punish you for reading too quickly. Each level shows a tiny puzzle — a picture clue, a word trick, or a sneaky question — and your job is to spell out the answer one letter at a time. The catch is the misdirection: the obvious answer is usually wrong, and the real one only clicks once you stop and look again. There are 80 hand-built levels in total, and they get meaner as you climb.
The whole game lives inside this page. There is nothing to download, no level pack to buy, and no loading screen between puzzles — just open it and start twisting your brain.
How to Play
Pick a mode from the start screen, choose an unlocked level, then read the clue carefully before you start tapping letters.
- Goal — figure out the word or phrase the clue is pointing at and spell it into the answer slots above the keyboard.
- Typing — tap the on-screen keyboard, or use your physical keyboard on a laptop. Letters fill the slots left to right.
- Delete & clear — the ⌫ key removes your last letter and the ↺ key wipes the row so you can start the guess over.
- Auto-check — there is no submit button. The moment every slot is full the game checks your answer; a wrong guess shakes the row and clears it for another try.
- Unlocking — solving a level unlocks the next one in that mode. Locked levels stay closed until you beat the level in front of them.
The Three Modes
- Easy — 30 levels — simple picture-plus-word combos like an emoji next to a word that join into one bigger word. A gentle warm-up.
- Medium — 30 levels — tricks, twists, and misdirection: read-it-backwards puzzles, color traps where the word lies about its own color, and count-the-legs style math riddles.
- Hard — 20 levels — pure brain-melt riddles where the obvious reading is almost always a trap.
Hints & Scoring
Brain Twist uses an in-game hint currency — little lightbulbs — rather than a points score. You begin each session with 60 lightbulbs and earn 5 more every time you solve a level, so the better you do the more help you bank for the brutal levels later.

- Distrust the obvious. If an answer feels too easy, it is probably the trap. The puzzle is usually testing whether you read the question or just the first thing you saw.
- Count the slots. The number of empty boxes tells you the answer's length, which can rule out the wrong word instantly.
- Spend the cheap hint first. A single revealed letter costs only 25 lightbulbs and is often enough to unjam your thinking without burning a full clue.
